We finally got our creative jam on. I think we may have it right this time. It’s not my number one choice, but Rob says the roofline is much easier/cheaper to build, plus the master is on the main which means I can live in this house even when I old and decrepit. LOL.
So here’s the inspiration plan. We found it on Architectural Designs. We just wanted something smaller and easier. So I found this. Rob loved it for its simple, symmetrical roof design.
So, here’s our new plan. I think we finally have a plan!
The house is just under 3000 feet. A lot better. Rob and Dean insisted on building out the space above the garage for a “man cave” which added on some footage, but since it’s above the already-needs-to-be-built garage, Rob called it “free” square footage. ha! I like the way he thinks.
It’ll be a classic farmhouse with a huge kitchen and dining room with an open plan concept. Master is on the main floor with two bedrooms on the second floor, plus a small library for all my books. Here’s the rendering.
Now that the drawings are finally complete, it’s off to the county for permitting. It’ll take 8-12 weeks to get permits. The waiting is torture. In the meantime, we’ll break ground and put foundations, getting ready for the first inspection just as the permits come in. I love my husbands strategy, always thinking ahead.
