As if we all weren’t excited enough about this week’s CreativeLive course “In the Studio with Anne Geddes,” this story has us all completely giddy here in our studio in Bend, Oregon.

Julia got to meet Anne Geddes! Yes, really! On Friday, Julia flew to Seattle to take part in an  exclusive, soon-to-be-announced Anne Geddes event. She visited with Anne, met her husband and daughter, even had lunch with this icon of baby and newborn photography. A once-in-a-lifetime experience that turned Julia into a nervous, star-struck little kid! As the only photographer invited to this special event, Julia had the opportunity to chat with Anne about many things and came back from the whirlwind experience in awe of this pioneering, celebrity female photographer who is really as down-to-earth and kind as can be.

While we can’t share much about why Julia was in-studio on Friday (you’ll just have to wait to hear more about that from CreativeLive a bit later!), we can tell you a bit about the studio set-up and Anne Geddes of course. The crew at CreativeLive have been working around the clock to produce this once-in-a-lifetime production and the entire Seattle studio is devoted to Anne. It truly is a treat to see the inner workings and behind-the-scenes preparation of a production like this. Julia said some of the highlights for her included hanging out in the make-up room with Anne and learning about the hand-made designs that Anne uses on her babies.
