Braelyn came to us at 12 days old. Born premature at just 34 weeks, she was only 4 lbs and 15oz at birth. By the time she came in for her newborn photos, she was a little over five pounds. Great growth that mom and dad were happy with but still a sweet, tiny little thing. We all fell in love with her instantly.
Photography sessions with premature babies can be challenging, but they are so, so special. There’s something about a new baby who entered the world a bit early. It’s like they knew their time on earth must hurry up and get started despite what mom and doctors have to say about it. Julia has a special place in her heart for preemie babies, especially those who spend time in the NICU. Her own son, Dean, spent time in our local NICU and Julia bonded with the amazing nurses in the unit at St. Charles. The experience was difficult of course, but the wonderful staff made it manageable and less scary because of their kindness and expertise. When a preemie comes through the door at Jewel Images, there is a quiet hush of knowing and love that runs deeply through all of us. They are special little people indeed!
Braelyn’s beauty shines though in every photo and we hope her family, especially big brother Braxtyn and big sister Brystol, cherish these images for years to come!
