Julia’s creativeLIVE course “Pricing and Sales for Photographers” was a huge hit, garnering a live audience of approximately 20,000 students from all over the world. Surprisingly, some of the biggest lessons learned had more to do with life than with business.
A few quotable moments that are still making waves online:
- Say no to George! Doubt is your enemy. Crush your inner critic (George). He’s a narcissist and not doing you any good.
- Respect my sandbox!
- People don’t buy what you do, they buy what you believe. And what you do proves what you believe. (original quote from Simon Sinek)
- We do not sell paper, we sell emotion and experience.
- Why do you get out of bed every morning? What is your cause?
- Ignore the advice you get. You are your own radar. Most advice is crap. Less than 5% is game changing.
- Try not to worry about the things that can go wrong. The wrong things are what lead you to the right ones.
- Don’t devalue yourself, and don’t play down the value of pure assertiveness, perseverance and passion.
- Be extraordinarily audacious and really humble.
- Don’t do this alone. Solidarity is the kiss of death. A support system will save you when you need it.
