Flooring was the easy part. I’m a mom. I have a boy. I have two dogs and I’m going to be living on 10 acres. Can you say DIRT and GRIME?

So, I went with luxury vinyl plank flooring. These days, it’s so high quality and looks like hte real thing. We have 100 year old beams that will be on a majority of our kitchen ceiling so we are going to wait to pick our floor color until we know how hte beams will stain. But here’s the two choices. Pretty huh?

The floor needs to the dirt and the dog prints, so I went with a mid-brown that didn’t have any yellow, orange or red cast to it. I like my wood to be neutral brown.

Tile? That’s another story. Like faucets, there are so many options and it’s overwhelming. I wanted classic, but a hint of hip.

It’s coming together! We are finally starting to visualize the finished result and it’s so exciting!
