Wow….I am in shock.

Professional Photographers of America just released the results of the 2009 International Print Competition held this week in Atlanta, GA. My entire case merited and two of my prints were accepted into the International Loan Collection. This is a tremendous honor and I am simply sitting here in awe. I can’t believe it. I really didn’t think there was ever a time when my work would be good enough to make the Loan Collection. Dang.

The two prints that will travel across the world over the course of the next year as part of the International Loan Collection are:

“Foster Child”

and “Abandoned Dream.”

PPA will honor me with a Gold Medal Photographer of the Year award at the International Imaging Expo in Nashville, TN this coming January. There are generally only about two dozen photographers in the world who earn this honor each year. “Foster Child” and “Abandoned Dream” will be published in the 2009 Loan Collection Book Volume XII available through Marathon Press next winter. It is published in eight countries across the world. My other two prints, “The Weight of The World” and “Destination Unknown” will go on National Exhibit in the General Collection this winter. I’m still in absolute shock. Who would have thought?  Would somebody pinch me please?
